Blaine boys’ basketball lost a close one to Anacortes on January 13, falling 65-60 in a matchup that remained tied until the final minute.
Chase Speelman scored a career-high 28 points, but the Borderites ultimately fell victim to the Seahawks’ 87 percent free-throw shooting.
Anacortes went 26-for-30 from the line, helping them pull away in the final seconds. The loss bumps Blaine to 1-5 in the Northwest Conference, 3-10 overall.
The boys next host the Sehome Mariners starting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, weather permitting.
