Blaine continues wrestling winning streak

Blaine’s high school wrestlers made a dominant showing at home last Wednesday against Nooksack Valley as the Borderites won their first meet of the New Year, 43-26.

Everything was going so well for the Blaine boy’s basketball team. They were matched up with a team that was certainly beatable and had them down by nine points after an efficient and suffocating defensive effort in the first quarter.

Going into Tuesday night’s game against the undefeated Lynden Christian Lyncs, head girls’ basketball coach Jeremy Hinchey said he knew his team would have a fight on their hands.

An off season of speculation and a two-month search ended December 17, when Blaine athletic director Wayne Vezzetti hired former Borderite assistant coach Alisa Burk to replace the departed Tim Esposito as head coach of girl’s softball at Blaine.
