The boys saw their first postseason action since 2008 in an exciting matchup that got ugly at times, with slaps and hits that resonated throughout Mount Baker's domed gym.

The Blaine wrestling team was favored to win the Class 1A Sub Regional Tournament at Squalicum High School February 1, but out of the six teams in attendance Mount Baker finished first with 317 points to Blaine's 310.5.

In the second to last scheduled game of their regular season, the girls basketball team traveled to Sedro Woolley and won their seventh game in a row by shutting down their opponent's offense.

The wrestling team put on a winning show for the home crowd last week â make that two shows, as they bested both Sehome and Ferndale.

After a loss to Lynden, a win against Friday Harbor, and a heartbreaker at home against Sedro-Woolley, Borderite coach Shaun Pile said his team feels good about securing the fourth seed against Mount Baker heading into the 1A Northwest district tournament.
