Blaine hoopsters featured in all-county game

Jordan Oldham and Trevor Chau were two of the galaxy of basketball talent that gathered for the 24th annual Boys and Girls Club of Whatcom County Classic on March 19 at Lynden high school.

The Borderite girls track team began defense of their 2A team state championship by cruising to solid victories over Lynden and Nooksack Valley in the season opener for all three schools, March 19 at Rollie DeKoster Field.

In a game that may foreshadow a district championship rematch later this season, the Lynden Lions scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh inning to deal Blaine a 5-4 opening day loss at Lynden on March 22.

Borderites’ hopes rest on pitching, experience

Blaine baseball opponents can expect a large dose of strong left-handed pitching this season. The Borderites will be sending out an entirely left-handed starting rotation this season, including senior stand-out Kyle Olason.
