Archbishop Murphy makes short work of Borderites

Gone was the memory of Nathan Trueblood’s sparkling victory over Northwest Conference leader Sehome as well as Kyle Olason’s masterful gems against Granite Falls and Anacortes.

Conway gets lone win at 2A tourney

Blaine singles ace Katey Conway was also the only Borderite to make it to the second round as the remaining Blaine representatives were swept in the opening round May 15. Conway defeated Lakewood’s Talli Caldwell 6-1, 6-2 to advance against Bellingham’s Rose Hopper losing 6-2, 6-4.

Fastpitch girls back on track

The Blaine fastpitch team had been down a brief gopher hole of poor play, no hitting and roughed up pitching of late. Coming off lopsided losses to 3A power Sedro-Woolley and Anacortes, the Borderites faced the defending 2A state champion Burlington-Edison May 13 at Pipeline Fields.

Kyle Olason is the undisputed star of the Blaine baseball team.

Borderite boys track finishes season with 10-0

Blaine’s boys completed a perfect regular season in track and field beating both Sehome and Sedro-Woolley at Civic Field May 5.
