2023 Year in Review: Blaine Arts Council

Posted

The Blaine Arts Council’s first year has been incredible.

We started with the important things: Put together a great executive team, produced a monthly newsletter, created a website for our artists and became a 501(c)(3). We had our first successful fundraiser in August, The WAVE opening night and studio tour weekend, and followed it up in November with the Sea to See Pop-Up Art Show. During our first year, our membership doubled in size. We could not be prouder of where we are and where we are headed.

Growing and increasing participation in the board is an important next step for our organization. We are seeking to add community members, such as yourself, who want to see the arts grow in our region.

Our goal is to make Blaine the tourist destination it deserves to be and to show the world the natural beauty of this place we love to call home.

In late July, we will host our second annual fundraiser, The WAVE En Blanc & Art Festival – filled with art, music, a silent auction and fabulous food – it’s an event you won’t want to miss.

A few of our other plans include:

• A regularly scheduled, monthly art walk to support local artists and Blaine businesses

• A children’s art camp

• An artistic seal pup project

• Support public art and the mural festival slated for the end of August

• The Sea to See Pop-Up Art Show returning again in early November

We are excited for what the future holds for our council and would love to have you join us at our monthly general meetings or any of our upcoming events. See our calendar at blaineartscouncil.org/events
