Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 (BBBPRD2) is partnering with nationwide program Silver&Fit to offer affordable fitness classes to Medicare beneficiaries.

“We are thrilled to become part of the Silver&Fit national facility network,” said BBBPRD2 program manager Heidi Holmes in a press release. “At the BBBPRD2, we’re dedicated to helping people of all ages and health levels improve their fitness.”

The Silver&Fit Program is available to Medicare beneficiaries who have purchased Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement coverage that includes the Silver&Fit program as a benefit. The program provides fully and partially subsidized fitness memberships at more than 12,000 fitness facilities nationwide, now including BBBPRD2.

“By offering the Silver&Fit program, we can better help our maturing members maintain a regular schedule of exercise that can improve their overall quality of life,” Holmes said. “We invite our senior community to join us and experience fitness, disease prevention, social opportunities and fun.”

BBBPRD2 offers a variety of fitness classes that are suitable for all ages and abilities, including yoga, Zumba, Barre, Pilates, POUND and pickleball. Classes are offered at the Birch Bay Activity Center, located at 7511 Gemini Street, and the Blaine Pavilion, located at 635 8th Street.
