Ballots are on the way to registered voters

The Whatcom County auditor’s office sent ballots to registered voters on Wednesday, October 18, according to a press release from the auditor’s office.

Voters should also receive the local voters pamphlet within a few days of their ballots, Whatcom County auditor Debbie Adelstein said.

Voters can return ballots in an official ballot drop box until 8 p.m. on Election Day,

November 7.

The county installed new drop boxes at Custer Elementary School and inside the International Marketplace in Point Roberts. All drop box locations are printed on an insert enclosed with ballots and are also printed in the local voters pamphlet, Adelstein said.

It’s free to put ballots in a drop box, but ballots returned through the mail need a 49-cent stamp and the ballot must be postmarked no later than November 7. The USPS now recommends mailing your ballot one week before election day, according to the news release.
