The Blaine High School chess team is back from the state tournament held March 2-3 at Interlake High School in Bellevue. Chess club advisor Don Sayegh said the team didn’t do very well “but the students learned a lot and we had a great time anyway.” The tournament ended in a five-way tie for first between Lakeside, Newport, Garfield, Interlake and Bellevue high schools.
