A deceased male was discovered north of Sandy Point on July 22.
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies arrived to the 4800 block of Sucia Drive at approximately 2:45 p.m. and found the male, who had washed ashore.
According to a statement from the WCSO, the male was only wearing undershorts and appeared to have been in the water for a while.
“No immediate cause of death was apparent nor could identification be made other than an adult male,” read the statement. “Sheriff’s Office investigators are working with the medical examiner’s office and other law enforcement agencies, including Canadian, in hopes of finding possible missing person reports which may lead to the identity of the deceased.”
