Bomb threat forces evacuation at casino

Patrons from the Silver Reef Casino were evacuated on November 24 after law enforcement received reports of a robbery and bomb threat at the hotel, according to a statement from the Lummi Indian Business Council.

Shannon Marie Morris, 31, who was employed at the casino, is accused of stealing an undisclosed amount of money that was later recovered. According to the statement, Morris acted alone while her young child was left in a vehicle.

No one was injured and Morris was booked into Whatcom County Jail on charges of reckless endangerment, bomb threat, child abuse/neglect, non-residential burglary and robbery.
