Carolers are invited to stop by Semiahmoo Resort this weekend to sing the season’s top hits.
The event’s 20th year of old-fashioned caroling begins at 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 17 at Semiahmoo Resort’s San Juan Ballroom, 9565 Semiahmoo Pkwy.
“It’s just something magical that happens,” said event organizer and performer Dana Cohenour.
Cohenour is an award-winning children’s recording artist who has been organizing the event for about seven years. In 2017, she released “Dana’s Best Jump and Jam Tunes,” a children’s album.
From 5 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, she’ll lead a special children’s program to sing carols and read a Christmas story. Each participant will have a small surprise to take home with them, she said. Afterwards, she’ll be joined by musicians John Sturdivant, Erin Corday and her son Jack Cohenour to sing a variety of holiday hits until the end of the event at 6:30 p.m.
Reservations are encouraged for those who plan to dine at Semiahmoo Resort’s Pierside Kitchen or Packers Oyster Bar. To make a reservation, call 360/318-2090.
This year, the event asks attendees for nonperishable food and monetary donations to the Blaine Food Bank.
