City grants project extension

A project that could create approximately 500,000 square feet of industrial, manufacturing and office space received its second one-year extension from Blaine City Council.

The Blaine Industrial Park project received general binding site plan and plat variance approvals in September 2011. Applicants Eugen and Edith Klein were originally given five years to draft a development agreement with the city’s community development and public works director. They received a one-year extension in 2016.

“The project is very close to being finalized,” said Blaine community planner Alex Wenger. The project site is located south of Pipeline Road between Odell Road and Yew Avenue.

“If they’re so close to being finished, it’s in our interest to give them an extension,” said Blaine city councilmember Mary Lou Steward.
