Bill Baron, above., tosses a crabbing pot baited with chicken off the pier at Blaine Harbor Marina on August 17. The crabbing season for the northern parts of marine area 7, including the Gulf of Georgia, began on August 16 and lasts until September 30, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
