Cruz Rodriguez named to 2A NWC football first team

Blaine senior defensive lineman Cruz Rodriguez was voted into the 2A Northwest Conference all-conference first team for football.

Rodriguez was integral to the Borderites’ defense this season and a leading scorer on offense in the tight end position.

He was the only Borderite selected to the all-conference first team, an honor given by coaches in the conference. Offensive linemen Wyatt Cole and Gavino Rodriguez, wide receiver Chase Abshere, defensive lineman Porter Schmidt and linebacker Jacob Westfall all made the second team.
