When a 33-year-old man from Prince George, B.C. arrived at the Pacific Highway truck crossing in a Greyhound bus on February 6, he didn’t get the welcome he was hoping for.
US Customs and Border Protection (CPB) officers detained him at the scene after a check of National Crime Information Center (NCIC) records revealed he was a fugitive from justice on a warrant out of King County for charges of first degree child molestation and domestic violence.
“CBP officers are diligent in apprehending dangerous individuals and keeping them out of our neighborhoods,” said port director Kenneth Williams. “This suspected child molester is off the streets thanks to the great work and tireless efforts of our officers.”
CBP officers use NCIC to share information with law enforcement agencies, including warrants. In the past, the system has been used to arrest individuals who are wanted for crimes such as homicide, narcotics distribution and military desertion.
