Paws and Claws Expo is July 29

Dogs, cats and people can stop by the Paws and Claws Expo this month.

Hosted by the Alternative Humane Society, the event is free and takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 29 at Bloedel Donovan Park, 2114 Electric Avenue. Dogs must be leashed.

During the event, guests can meet dogs and cats that are up for adoption as well as Alternative Humane Society volunteers. The event will also feature games, raffles and a lineup of vendors.

Dog training event set at Blaine library

Learn how to train your dog at a workshop this weekend.

Dog behaviorist Lawrence Pang will lead a dog behavior training workshop from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at Blaine Public Library, 610 3rd Street.

The workshop is only open to individuals who attended the workshop on July 14.

It will be held in the grassy area behind the library and will feature lessons on how to walk on a leash and not pull and other common issues.
