City to improve signage at downtown parklets

The city is holding a photo contest as part of a campaign to improve signage at green spaces along Peace Portal Drive.
The best photographs will be used to be showcase the downtown parklets at Martin, Clark, Boblett, and Cherry streets.
“Please send us your favorite pictures that best represent the character of Blaine and the city’s celebrated history and maritime heritage,” reads a press release announcing the contest.
Winning photos will be featured as a background image for a 36-inch-by-30-inch park sign.
Submissions are due on Monday, January 7 at bit.ly/2rjM5sB. The park and cemetery board will announce the winners during a regular meeting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 10.
