Teen struck by train on July 4 in Surrey

A teen boy was hit and killed by a passenger train near Crescent Beach in Surrey on July 4.

According to a statement from Surrey RCMP, authorities responded to the scene at 10 p.m. and found the boy deceased; his name and age were not released.

Various media reports suggest that the teenager, along with friends, were watching the American fireworks display.

“Surrey RCMP is currently investigating the matter and the investigation is still in its early stages,” read the statement.

“There are multiple witnesses that are being interviewed in order to create a clear picture of the incident.”
