I just got a press release from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission about an upcoming series of concerts in Blaine. The commission has announced the 2011 lineup for the Peace Arch International Concert Series at, you guessed it, Peace Arch State Park.

The free outdoor concerts are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sundays from August 14 to September 4. Attendees will not be required to have a Discover Pass to park at the state park for the events.

Here's the lineup:

Aug. 14 – MB Orchestra with master ‘ud player Maurice Sadak Rouman & the Shahrazad Dance Ensemble: Music and dance of Arab cultures and the Middle East

Aug. 21 – Kalevaria United Methodist Church Youth Group of Tacoma: Polynesian dances, choral songs and drumming from Samoa

Aug. 28 – La Famille Léger: Acadien and Québécois house party music and dance from eastern Canada

Sept. 4 – Cambodian Classical & Folk Dance and Music: Cambodian music and dance from Tacoma area performing groups

The Peace Arch Park concerts are part of a statewide series of events presented by the Folk and Traditional Arts in the Park Program. Click here for a list of events across the state.
