I just received word from Blaine city manager Gary Tomsic that Blaine public works director Steve Banham will be leaving to take the public works director position with the city of Lynden.

“Under [Banham’s] leadership and guidance, we have enjoyed our city’s most productive period of infrastructure improvements,” Tomsic wrote in an email to city staff. “In addition, he brought to us a wide range of experience which went beyond his primary duties.”

Tomsic said Banaham’s last day with the city of Blaine with be November 7. I plan to get a hold of Banham and have a full article ready for next week’s addition of The Northern Light.
