V'Dovec named league MVP

Blaines unstoppable post player Taylor VDovec was named Most Valuable Player of the entire Northwest Conference for girls basketball.

V’Dovec was the leading scorer for the Borderites, with a total of 465 points in 30 games this season for an average of 15.5 points per game. The 5’11” junior ended the season with a field goal percentage of 44.1, having also made 83 out of 100 free-throw attempts. She dished out 67 assists and racked up 34 blocks and 67 steals. V’Dovec also made the 1A All-Tournament second team at the conclusion of the Hardwood Classic in Yakima.

Senior Alexis McElwain and junior Mandy Hayes made the All-Northwest Conference second team. McElwain averaged 9.6 points per game and led the team in rebounds, with 263 throughout the season. Hayes averaged 12 points per game and scored 39 three-pointers in 29 games.
