Blaine girls basketball lost two close games in the last week, starting with a 57–51 loss at home against Sehome on January 10, followed by a 46–42 loss at Sedro-Woolley on January 15.

After the games, the Borderites have a 5–9 record overall, and a 1–6 record in conference games.

Blaine lost the back-and-forth game against Sedro-Woolley in the fourth quarter, head coach Ryan Pike said.

“We missed some buckets we should have made and they hit some they needed,” he said.

Brynn Hallberg led Blaine with 13 points, Taylyn DePauw had eight, Ashley Dickerson scored seven and Hailey Pike and Krystin Kamrath both scored six. The Borderites are a well-rounded team with plenty of potential to win some conference games in the rest of the season. Next, the Borderites play Lakewood (3–10) at home on Thursday, January 17.
