Borderite block party to celebrate start of school

Blaine school district will be welcoming back students with open arms during the Borderite Community Block Party 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 21 at the Borderite Stadium, 1135 Boblett Street.

The district is partnering with community organization Birch Bay-Blaine Thrives and the Peace Arch Education Foundation to put on the event prior to school starting the following Wednesday. Event organizers are inviting students and their families along with Blaine and Birch Bay community members who want to learn more about the local schools.

The evening celebration will have live music, food, activities and even free haircuts. Additionally, there will be information about community resources, sports and clubs. Principals will also be available to answer questions and Borderite merchandise will be for sale.
