The city of Blaine is holding a public hearing for residents to weigh in on its 2023 revenue sources and proposed property tax levy. The hearing is during a regular city council meeting Monday, October 24 at 6 p.m.

The city finance department is recommending council pass a 1 percent increase to the 2022 property tax levy. City finance director Daniel Heverling said residents would pay approximately $4 more per year with the levy that is to be proposed.

The 2022 levy at its current rate will collect a total of $1,342,487.84 for the city. With the 1 percent increase, it would total $1,355,912.72 over the year, Heverling said, adding $13,424.88.
