Drayton Harbor Maritime attends Washington maritime heritage presentation

Posted

Members of Drayton Harbor Maritime attended a presentation on the plan for the Maritime Washington National Heritage Area at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal on June 8. While still in development, it’s the first and only National Heritage Area in the country that is focused entirely on maritime. Designated by Congress in 2019, the purpose of the plan is to help share and preserve Washington’s unique maritime heritage resources and stories, and support “those who celebrate, maintain, and share our water-based experiences.” Drayton Harbor Maritime contributed to the plan. Maritime Washington includes 3,000 miles of Washington state’s saltwater coastline from Grays Harbor to the Canadian border.
