Norman Paul Scheib
January 30, 1949 – December 10, 2014
Norman Paul Scheib 1949 passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Wednesday. He was born to Joseph and Esther Scheib who proceeded him in death and were one of the founding families of the Nooksack Valley Baptist Church. Norm graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1967 and continued his schooling with a track and basketball scholarship at Los Angeles Baptist College (now Masters College), with a degree in education. He was also a chaplain's assistant with the Army National Guard. He spent a year teaching and coaching at Tacoma Baptist High
School where he decided teaching wasn't his true calling. Norm went on to become the maintenance painter "extraordinaire" for St. Joseph Hospital for 30 years.
Norm is survived by his "partner in crime" Jan Boykin who he spent his last 15-1/2 wonderful years with. Norm was also a very proud father and is survived by his five children Brandon Scheib, Byron Scheib (Anna), Lane Scheib, Lalane Kiel, Bradley Scheib and two step-children Jay Boykin (Andrea) and Jerilynn Ginnis (Dan). Norm will also be missed by his three siblings Joanne DeBondt (Jon), Norvel Scheib (Nancy) and Mark Scheib (Kris) as well as his five grandchildren, five step grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Norm was a fun loving guy who was everyone's best friend and the guy you could always count on. He was known for lighting up a room with a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face. Norm loved his sports teams such as the Blaine Borderites, UW Huskies, Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners, although the best games he ever watched were starring his kids and grandkids. He loved playing golf, fishing with his brothers, learning to play pickle ball and putting a smile on everyone's face.
