Annual Senior Day event brings hundreds to Ferndale

The Blaine Senior Center closed on August 10 to join the 18th annual Senior Day in the Park at Hovander Homestead Park in Ferndale.

Approximately 350 people came to enjoy a barbecue lunch, learn more about local resources for seniors and participate in Zumba, cornhole and bocce ball.

Although it’s the 18th time Meals on Wheels and More has hosted the event, the tradition started more than 40 years ago, director Julie Meyers said.
