Art abound in Blaine throughout the month of May

Birch Bay artist Ruth Lauman is the May featured artist at the Studio at The Vault, 277 G Street. Lauman’s art, which includes photographs, greeting cards and matted prints, focuses on natural scenery in Blaine and Birch Bay.

Blaine artist Brian Major is being displayed at the Blaine Art Gallery, 922 Peace Portal Drive, during its May rotation. Major’s work includes sculptures inspired by mythological creatures and comics as well as oil paintings.

The Blind Bird Studio Art Lab and Gallery, at 264 H Street, which is currently featuring work by Shawna Morris and Kevin Hoover, is open during the Second Saturday art walk, Blaine Spring Block Party and by appointment.

May will be a booming month for the arts community in Blaine, with work being shown at different venues across the city.

From the Blaine Art Gallery to Blind Bird Studio Art Lab and Gallery and The Studio at The Vault, there’s no shortage of art to be appreciated in downtown Blaine.

The art can also be viewed during Blaine Arts Council’s Second Saturday Downtown Art Walk 4-6:30 p.m. May 10.
