Blaine varsity baseball won a big game on senior night against Lynden, one of four teams in the league with a better record than the Borderites.

Blaine’s Cam Ellis pitched for six and two-third innings, allowing just three runs. Cruz Rodriguez closed the game and Blaine won 5–3.

“That was a big one,” head coach Tanner Olson said. “It’s a pretty special win for the seniors with Cam and Cruz on the mound.”

Rodriguez hit 1-for-2 with an RBI, Colby Knutzen hit 1-for-4 and scored a run, Chase Abshere hit 1-for-4 and scored a run, Griffen King hit 1-for-2 and Mikael Elliot went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

The Borderites have an 8–4 record in conference games. Their final regular season game starts at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at Meridian (7–5).

“Meridian beat us early in the year in a non-conference game,” Olson said. “I know the guys want to get a little bit of payback for that one.”
