A Blaine man fired several shots and threatened “an event like Columbine” last week during a domestic violence assault, according to a statement read in Whatcom County Superior Court on December 2.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Cameron Allsop, 33, and booked him into Whatcom County Jail on charges for second degree domestic violence assault, fourth degree domestic violence assault and altering identifying marks on a firearm.

Deputies responded at about noon on Thursday, December to the 9600 block of Harvey Road in Blaine for a report of an assault with shots fired. They found two female subjects – Allsop’s girlfriend and a friend – and Allsop, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

One of the women reported that Allsop had been drinking and became upset. After firing a .22 handgun outside, he came inside and fired more shots in a back hallway. He then reportedly threatened to kill the women and himself and fired into the living room floor near their feet, according to the news release.

“When the friend told him to stop he said this would be a day of reckoning,” said deputy prosecutor Erik Sigmar, in a statement he read in court. “He threatened to go to work, kill his boss and himself and threatened an event like Columbine.”

Allsop’s bail is set at $150,000. On Tuesday, a court clerk said nothing in Allsop’s file indicated that he had posted bail. Allsop is scheduled to appear in court again on December 9.
