Canada news reporting B.C. government is rationing gas

Posted

Canadian news outlets are reporting B.C. is now rationing gas and putting restrictions on non-essential travel because of the flooding this week that has ravaged parts of B.C. and Washington.

A new emergency order is limiting Canadian residents to only buying 30 liters of fuel per purchase, according to a Globe and Mail article titled “B.C. rations gas amid shortage, orders restrictions on non-essential travel.”

B.C. public safety minister Mike Farnworth said damages to highways and Trans Mountain pipeline have reduced the gasoline supply. The Canadian government is working to increase gas supply by truck and boat.

CTV News Vancouver is reporting that the order will last until Wednesday, December 1.
