Donald Edward Gossett

Local resident Rev. Dr. Donald Edward Gossett (Sr.), 85, has died after a brief illness. At age 19, Rev. Gossett entered Christian ministry and was active until his death; his daily programs on Radio KARI and other stations continue. He published nearly 200 books, with “What You Say Is What You Get” his multi-million-copy bestseller (translated into 32 languages and distributed internationally); his publisher will release another book in 2015.
Rev. Gossett was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Gossett, (1929-1991); daughter Judith Gossett, (1952-2003); parents Robert Gossett and Lily Jane Gossett; sister Donnis Thomas and brother-in-law Delbert Thomas; and brother Richard Leon Gossett.
Rev. Gossett is survived by his second wife Debra Gossett; son Michael Gossett [daughter-in-law Shelley Gossett; granddaughter Victoria Froelich (grandson-in-law Justin, great-grandson Fraser Froelich), grandson James Gossett]; daughter Jeanne Halsey [son-in-law Kenneth Halsey; granddaughter Jennifer Freeman (grandson-in-law Patrick Freeman, great-grandson Kristian Freeman, great-granddaughter Ava Freeman), grandson Alexander Halsey (granddaughter-in-law Cherry Halsey, great-grandson Jude Halsey, great-granddaughters Aja and Hayley Halsey]; son Donnie Gossett [grandson Brandon Gossett (granddaughter-in-law Kelsey Gossett, great-granddaughter Piper Gossett); grandsons Jordan and
Justin Gossett]; daughter Marisa Nyman [son-in-law Ken Nyman; granddaughter Vanessa Pedersen (grandson-in-law Jared Pedersen, great-grandson Jack and great-granddaughter Grace Pedersen); granddaughter Jessica Collier (grandson-in-law Jordan Collier); granddaughters Rebekah and Samantha Nyman]; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family funeral was held Monday, December 15, and a public Memorial for Rev. Gossett will be held in January 2015; further information will be forthcoming at www.dongossett.com.
