Orcas make rare appearance in Blaine waters

Several orcas were spotted in Drayton Harbor and Semiahmoo Bay about 6:30 p.m. June 28 and 7 p.m. June 29. Orcas were also observed traveling through Boundary Bay near Point Roberts during the afternoon of June 29. This is the second time orcas have made a rare appearance in Blaine waters in less than a year, with the last reported sighting September 1. Orca Network received a report that the orcas near Semiahmoo Bay appeared to be hunting.
