Scenes from the Scottish gathering festival in Blaine

The Bellingham Scottish Gathering brought bagpipes, dancing and displays of strength to Blaine on June 7.

The festival centered around Blaine Marine Park, where a vendors market, drumming and bagpipe and dance competitions took place. A boat transported attendees to Semiahmoo Spit, where competitors tested their strength through athletic games, including a caber toss and lifting heavy stones.
