School district gives initial approval to union contract changes

The Blaine school district board of directors approved changes to the district’s collective bargaining agreements with the teacher’s union as well as the salary schedule with the service workers union at a special meeting on September 1.

For the collective bargaining contract with the teacher’s union – the Blaine Education Association – the contract items approved on September 1 will also need to be approved by the board when it approves the union’s full two-year contract.

The board anticipates voting on that no later than its October 24 meeting, according to the district’s website. Changes to both contracts are available at the district’s website, blaine.wednet.edu.
