July 24, 1986 - January 9, 2015

A very dearly loved husband, daddy, son, brother and grandson, Sean Owen Stacey Hicks, age 28, passed away at his home in Bellingham, WA. He was born July 24, 1986 the son of Angi and Joe Hicks. Sean graduated from Blaine High School in 2005 where he enjoyed playing football and basketball. After graduation he went on to play semi-pro football for the Avalanche, Bellingham Bulldogs, Whatcom Raiders, and the Bellingham Blitz. Sean loved football and was always ready for a game. He also loved playing pool with his parents and brothers.

On Nov 7, 2009 Sean married the love of his life Hannah Steinbach, and in December 2013 they were blessed with their beautiful baby girl Lena Rae. Sean was a proud daddy and Lena was the light of his life. Sean loved his family so very much and they meant everything to him, doing whatever it would take to make sure they had anything they needed, often working when most men no longer could.

Sean is survived by his wife Hannah Hicks, daughter Lena Rae, parents Angela (Stacey) and Joe Hicks; brothers Shane, Shaffer (wife Erika), and Sheldon; nephews Ryland, Jace, Liam, Aiden and Bryson; grandparents Lyndal and Shirley Stacey, Karen Hamer, mother and father-in-law, Lori and Jerry Steinbach, sister-in-law Payton Steinbach; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless numbers of friends and teammates he loved ever so deeply to whom he would willingly give the shirt off his back.

Sean was proceeded in death by his grandmother DaLinda (Dee) Bartley, great grandmother Allene Stacey, and grandfather Irvin Albert Hicks.

Services are Friday, January 23, at 12 noon at Cornwall Church, 4518 Northwest Dr., Bellingham, WA. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Moles Greenacres on Northwest Dr. and Axton Road. All are also invited to further celebrate Sean’s life at a reception at Fox Hall, 1661 W. Bakerview Rd., Bellingham, following the graveside service.
