Blaine’s Market by the Sea has returned for its seasonal run, selling homemade goods against the backdrop of Drayton Harbor in the heart of downtown.
The outdoor market, which started May 3, runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday at G Street Plaza. Vendors sell anything handcrafted – whether that’s skincare products, woodwork, native plants, jewelry, essential oils or even tarot card readings, market manager Donna Reed said.
“It’s all handmade and hand-produced,” Reed said. “It’s a community market.”
New vendors are still being accepted. Booths cost $15 per day for Blaine Chamber of Commerce members, $20 per day for nonmembers and $5 per day for nonprofits and children. To sign up for a booth, visit bit.ly/3YAh9od.
Organizers are working to expand the market’s appeal throughout the season, including bringing in live music performances. They are also brainstorming ways to attract Canadians during a time when many are foregoing crossing the border due to political tension.
“We’re trying to keep it very friendly to Canadians,” she said. “They are welcome, and we hope they keep coming.”
The market is open through October, weather permitting, Reed said.
