Whatcom County water monitoring presentation set for Wednesday

Whatcom County government agencies and environmental organizations will meet Wednesday to discuss with the public how they are keeping county waters clean.

The Whatcom Watershed Information Network is hosting “Dive In: Protecting Whatcom County’s Lakes and Streams,” 5:30-7 p.m. at the Whatcom County Public Works building, 322 N. Commercial St. in downtown Bellingham. The meeting also will be streamed on Zoom.

The network is a nonpartisan group of agencies, businesses, nonprofits and citizens dedicated to protecting water and natural resources in Whatcom County.

At the meeting, speakers will discuss monitoring for pollution, the biggest threats to water quality and what Whatcom County residents can do to help. 

Presenters include the City of Bellingham, RE Sources, the Washington State Department of Ecology, Whatcom Conservation District and Whatcom County Public Works Department.
