Border Patrol Report: October 1–8, 2014

The information listed below is from arrests and seizures related to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Blaine Sector area of operations from October 1 through October 8. For security reasons, this may not be a complete list of enforcement actions.

October 3: During evening hours, a U.S. Border Patrol agent encountered a suspicious individual in close proximity to the international border in Blaine. Upon questioning, the subject admitted to being a Canadian citizen and to illegally entering into the United States moments before being encountered by the agent. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.

October 5: Shortly before midnight, agents conducted a stop of a suspicious vehicle in close proximity to the United States/Canada border west of Sumas. Agents determined that the driver was a citizen of Mexico, illegally present in the United States. Record checks revealed the subject had been previously deported from the United States on two other occasions. The subject was arrested and processed for reinstatement of a prior

order of removal.  

October 6: A Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) operator witnessed a group of people illegally cross into the United States near Blaine. Agents responded in the area and encountered four suspects matching the description given by the RVSS operator. Agents determined that all four were citizens of South Korea who were illegally in the United States. The group was taken into custody. Agents determined that one of the subjects had been removed from the United States on two previous occasions. All four subjects were processed for removal proceedings.

October 6: Late in the evening, a RVSS operator reported seeing two subjects hiding in a wooded area near the United States/Canada international boundary. Agents responded to the possible illicit cross-border activity east of Sumas. When agents arrived to the area, they discovered two subjects attempting to hide behind a row of trees. Agents determined that they were citizens of India. The two were taken into custody and processed for

removal proceedings.

October 8: While patrolling the border, an agent encountered an individual in an area that is notorious for illegal entries into the United States. The subject was soaking wet and his clothing was dirty indicating he may have recently crossed through the woods that divide the United States and Canada. Agents determined that the individual was a citizen of Canada, unlawfully present in the United States. The subject was placed under arrest and processed for removal.
