Burn ban begins July 1

The Whatcom County Fire Marshal's office has announced a Level 1 burn ban will begin on Monday, July 1.

Residential and land clearing burning are prohibited as of that date.

Recreational fires and propane fire pits will still be allowed unless higher level burn bans are implemented.

All burning in Point Roberts require permits which are now good for the calendar year at no cost. Burn bans supersede permits in whichever categories are prohibited.
